Hair loss is rarely just about hair. It's a signal — of stress, of gut health, of hormones, of inflammation, of styling habits, of life. At KISSED, care addresses both the internal root causes and the external scalp environment, together.
Trichologist · Holistic Health Practitioner · Herbalist · Educator
For nearly 30 years, Dr. Christy Vonta Bell has worked at the intersection of hair, scalp, beauty, education, wellness, and human behavior. What began as a career in the beauty industry evolved into a much deeper pursuit: understanding why changes happen — not simply finding another product to cover the symptoms. Today, that philosophy is at the heart of KISSED Functional Wellness.
Her approach is grounded in the understanding that hair and scalp concerns don't always exist in isolation. Stress, nutrition, lifestyle, life transitions, wellness patterns, hair-care practices, environmental factors, and underlying medical concerns can all be important pieces of a much larger picture. Rather than beginning with "what product should we use?" — she begins with a different question:
"What is your hair, scalp, and body trying to tell us?"
Her role is to investigate the pieces within her professional scope, identify observable patterns, help clients better understand their findings, develop appropriate wellness and scalp-care recommendations, and recognize when collaboration or referral to a licensed medical provider is warranted.
Dr. Bell brings an uncommon combination of professional experience to every client encounter. She is a Certified Trichologist, Doctor of Trichology Science (DTS), Board-Certified Holistic Health Practitioner, Master Herbalist, and Licensed Cosmetologist and Cosmetology Instructor, with decades of experience working with hair and scalp concerns.
Her academic background also includes an earned PhD in Psychology, adding another dimension to her understanding of human behavior, stress, identity, lifestyle, and the ways significant life experiences can influence how people care for themselves.
Her work in education has been equally important. As the founder of KISSED University, Dr. Bell has trained and mentored practitioners in trichology, hair and scalp science, herbal medicine, and integrative wellness. Teaching other professionals has required her not only to know what to do, but to continually examine the science, reasoning, safety, scope, and methodology behind it.
Many women arrive at KISSED after trying product after product, supplement after supplement, or treatment after treatment — often without fully understanding what they're trying to address. Dr. Bell believes investigation should come before intervention. That's why the KISSED process can incorporate detailed history, microscopic hair and scalp analysis, wellness assessment, lifestyle and nutritional review, evaluation of existing information when appropriate, and individualized recommendations.
Trust also means knowing when something falls outside our scope.
Despite the credentials behind her name, Dr. Bell believes clients should never feel as though they're simply another appointment on a schedule. You deserve time to explain what has been happening. You deserve to ask questions. You deserve to understand what your practitioner observes. And you deserve recommendations based on your findings, your history, and your needs — not a generic protocol given to everyone who walks through the door.
Stop guessing. Start investigating.
Whether you're experiencing persistent shedding, thinning, scalp discomfort, changes in your hair, or broader wellness concerns, the first goal is not to promise a cure. It's to listen, investigate, educate, and determine the most appropriate next step — because you deserve someone willing to help you look at the whole picture.
